Status Update and Over 1100 Downloads
Although there has been no update in months, rest assured the project is still alive. :)
If you asked me to name what part of the project is holding things up, I would point to Runabout Circuit. As the first conventional track since the early and experimental Test Circuit, it is the testbed for creating a more elaborate map.
In that effort, there is more than just 3D modelling to do. A couple ideas for the track have spurred a rewrite of the rain particles. I would like to author a particle shader and template that can detect surfaces and stop rain from passing through them. The setback: I haven't written a shader before.
One other new development involves Godot 3.4, which brings an update to the path functionality I use to create tracks. With that, I have decided to remodel Runabout Circuit from scratch.
Of course, these things have not taken literally months of continuous work. Solo indie development being what it is, I can only assure you the project has not ceased.
Lastly, as the title indicates, GDSim has been downloaded more than 1100 times!

Super cool! Excited to read that the project continues. I’m keeping a watchful eye 👀. Good luck with the shader!
